VLOG 06 - Behind the scenes - Exams
January to July is our exam focused time at both of our studios. The IDTA dance examination system has been developed to allow the student to set smart goals within their training, and once achieved always feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment.
This VLOG was taken at our first IDTA exam session of 2020 where we mainly had tap grades entered with a speckling of ballet and just to complete the day our street crew 'UNITY' with their Alice in Wonderland routine.
We wanted to showcase how relaxed and fun the exam day can be at Starbrite Studios and we feel this video does exactly that.
Thank you for watching!

VLOG 01 - Behind the scenes of Grace’s 16th Birthday Party
In the first of Starbrite's Video Logs (VLOGs), we report on how we were approached by Grace’s Mum, Jill, to provide entertainment for her 16th Birthday Party. Grace’s favourite movie is The Greatest Showman so the theme was to be circus inspired.
We asked if we could get Grace involved in one of the routines as we believe that dance should be inclusive for all.
Grace is wheelchair bound but this didn’t stop her on the day. Just look at that smile!

How does wearing a uniform benefit an individual?
Wearing a uniform can be viewed from at least a couple of different perspectives. It can be viewed as a way of enforcing a 'uniform' way of dressing - asking people to wear the same clothing and not giving them a choice. This can create a sense of resentment amongst those who are made to wear the uniform. A uniform might not represent what they would wear in their daily lives, so why would they want to wear it for the longest part of their day when they are in the workplace or at a school? Some uniforms are not designed to be particularly flattering, but rather serve an inexpensive and functional purpose which makes it easy for an organisation to get across their message.
