Emma Bailey-Hague, Creative Director and Principal

Emma Bailey-Hague

Emma has a wealth of experience mentoring and delivering pre-vocational training at a highly successful dance academy since 2001. She obtained her first IDTA teaching qualification at the age of just 16. Today, she currently holds a Fellowship, the highest technical qualification awarded by the IDTA, for tap and ballet, in addition to Licentiate qualifications in Modern-Jazz, Theatre Craft, and Freestyle. She holds an Anatomy and Physiology Diploma, a Level 4 Diploma in authentic street dance, and is certified to Level 2 with Acrobatic Arts.

Emma ran her own successful cabaret troupe, ‘Wicked', in which she performed alongside two other dancers touring around large corporate events and sporting events.

In 2001, Emma toured with the winner of BBC's 'Star for a Night', Mark Kerrins, performing vocals and choreography to sell-out audiences. She has also performed as a professional dancer in numerous other productions, toured as a can-can dancer for three years, worked professionally in pantomimes, and is an in-demand national adjudicator.

Emma is renowned for her energy, enthusiasm, and humour when teaching, as well as her passion and dedication for helping all pupils to achieve their potential.

Jason Plenty, Managing Director

Jason's experience in business and IT stretches back to when he obtained his degree in Business Studies in 1992, and many years since then working mostly as a freelance IT Consultant for a very diverse range of organisations in the private and public sectors.

He originally trained as a Software Developer, but is also a qualified technical trainer, and has spent recent years specialising in the design and development of database and management information systems.

As Managing Director of Starbrite's sister company, Triplestar College of Performing Arts, he is well-versed in the performing arts. He is responsible for Starbrite's development, and for monitoring and evaluating the teaching and learning of both its students and teachers.

Destiny Sparkes, Teacher

Miss Destiny joined Starbrite's Street and Tap classes in 2011 at the age of 10. Over the years she has joined more classes and worked hard to achieve fantastic exam results. She also started helping out as a Classroom Assistant and quickly made strong relationships with every child she came into contact with.

In 2017 she joined the very first student cohort of Starbrite's sister company, Triplestar College of Performing Arts, and whilst working on a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Dance, has excelled in technique and confidence in all her subjects. She completed her training in July 2019.

In January 2019, Miss Destiny also joined Starbrite's teaching faculty on a part-time basis, and became full-time after graduating from college. She has become a very valuable asset to Starbrite and we feel extremely lucky to have her on our staff.

Claire Hartley, Teacher

Miss Claire brings to the studios her British Gymnastics training and expertise to create confident gymnasts. She is also an incredible tap teacher.

Hannah Kersley, Teacher

Hannah is a thoroughly enthusiastic performer who has trained in a variety of styles such as ballet, jazz, commercial, and contemporary since the young age of 4. She has recently graduated from Addict Dance Academy with a First-Class BA Hons in Dance Performance> She studied under the likes of Leah Hill, Jo Goodwin, Johnny Bishop, Mark Webb, Ricky Jinks, Jared Hageman, and Phillip Birchall and many more industry professionals. She has recently worked with Ricky Jinks to produce a 40-minute show with a group of dancers in her third year at Addict for their final major project on their course and has continued working with him as part of Company Jinks Manchester. Hannah is also training as part of a Commercial Heels company in Liverpool called ‘Phoenix’ ran by Angel Wharmby. She hopes to pursue a long, successful, and exciting career within the performing arts industry and strives to share and produce excellent work to inspire many future generations to come.

Chloe Mangham, Teacher

Chloe has been training in multiple dance styles from the age of 12 and has always had a true passion for performance. At the age of 16, she began assistant teaching at her local dance school and quickly found another passion for teaching the next generation of dancers and performers. Chloe then gained her first teaching qualification with the IDTA at Distinction level, as well as an Anatomy and Physiology Diploma by the time she was 18.

Chloe then went on to study dance at university, where she trained for 2 years at Mechanics’ Performing Arts to receive a HND in dance at Distinction level. She then went on to complete her final year of professional training after receiving a place at Addict Dance Academy, resulting in Chloe graduating in June 2021, receiving a First-Class Honours Degree in Dance Performance.

Chloe is so excited to come back to teaching now she has graduated and can’t wait to share her passion and knowledge of everything she’s learnt during her professional training.
